We met the 3rd grade teacher on Wednesday … a surefire sign that summer is almost over. The 3rd-5th grade classrooms are upstairs at school, so she is super-excited about it. And I have been informed that I will not be walking her to her classroom this year (sigh, why do they have to grow up so fast?).
The end of summer is both sad and exciting: sad that there is no more sleeping in, sad that the pool is closing, sad that it means that our “baby” is definitely not a baby anymore; exciting to watch the kids grow, exciting to see what 3rd grade is like for her (it was both our favorite), exciting to know that she can spend time with her friends again.
So Monday morning we get to get up at the crack of dawn and head into the 3rd grade … it is certainly bittersweet.
